Deep Tissue Massage
 |
Deep tissue massage is used to release chronic
muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct deep
pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles
not with the grain. Deep tissue massage uses an invigorating
technique to detect stiff or painful areas by determining
the quality and texture of the deeper layers of musculature
then slowly working into the deep layers of muscle tissue.
Specific hand positions and strokes are then used to respond
to the tissue qualities. Techniques employing breath and
movement are also used for releasing muscular congestion
and relaxing muscle tissue. |
 |
Deep tissue massage should be performed by a well-trained
massage practitioner using their hands in a powerful manner
to promote wellness. Deep tissue massage releases the chronic
patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and
deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following
or going across the grain of muscles, tendons and fascia.
It is called deep tissue, because it also focuses on the
deeper layers of muscle tissue. |
Reiki
 |
It is the spiritually guided (Rei) life force
energy (Ki) which is channeled through the healer and received
by the body of the recipient as gentle supportive healing
energy. Please know that the recipient of Reiki is always
in control of the healing experience. There is no need to
disrobe-ever. You may elect to be touched or not, as you
see fit for your highest good.
|
 |
Reiki does not challenge nor conflict
with any religious belief systems.
Reiki may be used, if desired with all other treatment
modalities, and will enhance the healing experience. |
Reflexology
 |
Reflexology is the process of applying pressure
to different points along the body's natural energy channels.
By applying pressure to these points along the feet (and
hands) the body becomes stimulated, the energy channels
expand and the corresponding body parts are assisted in
their quest to reach equilibrium. |
Areas along the feet and hands form a microcosm
of the entire body's organs. By tapping into the inner resources
of the body's healing system one can change the stress level
throughout the body's intricate muscle and nervous systems.

Hot Stone Therapy
 |
Therapeutic stones have an amazing healing
energy and have been used for massage therapy around the
world for hundreds of years.
Hot Stone Massage is one of the fastest growing massage
techniques in today's spas throughout this country and
across international waters. This form of bodywork involves
the use of heated stones applied to the body in various
ways to bring about relief to stiff and sore muscles, resulting
in alleviation of chronic and acute problems that many
of us deal with on a daily basis. |
 |
The type of basalt (for hot stones)
that is used in hot stone therapy is modified igneous rock
that is formed by
volcanic and sedimentary action. Basalt is the most abundant
of the volcanic rocks, especially plentiful in those regions
that have undergone volcanic disturbance within geologically
recent times. Most present-day volcanoes erupt basaltic
material. This black to sometimes greenish stone is very
dense and
forms fine crystalline masses. |
The black basalt stones stay hotter longer
than any of the other colors Mother Earth has to offer. The
density of the stones is 2.5 times the weight per volume
of water. The hardness is 7 on the Mohs' Scale of 1-10, a
diamond being a ten. The basalt that I use has been eroded
by steam or water activity. The stones then washed along
a river bottom and were given their smooth potato-like shape
and size.
This therapy is very effective in creating harmony and
a positive energy flow thus promoting a sense of balance
energy and peace. |
RainDrop Therapy
 |
Is a combination
oil application and techniques used by the Lakota Indians.
It is designed to bring the body into balance, help align
the energy centers of the body and release blockages. Drops
of essential oil fall like rain onto the back. After each
new oil is applied, it is smoothed and fanned over the nerves.
"It has typically been used to help straighten spinal
curvatures and to fight against viruses. It has been discovered
that many viruses lie dormant along the spine, including
the virus that causes scoliosis. |
The RainDrop Therapy is a mild and non-intrusive
application of a combination of several techniques that
have proven to be effective from a small degree, to what
would appear to be miraculous. I have never seen it fail,
and have been surprised by many unexpected and fruitful
results. Of course, this cannot be taken to mean that it
will always work." D. Gary Young N.D., excerpt from
his book Aromatherapy The Essential Beginning.
RainDrop Therapy may be especially beneficial for back
problems such as scoliosis, deteriorated disks and compression.
The oils may continue to work in the body for about 5 to
7 days after a treatment, with continued realignment taking
place during this time.
The combination of the RainDrop techniques, Reiki, accupressure
and massage makes this a power healing therapy, which allows
the physical system to achieve a deep state of relaxation,
thus enabling one to find that inner peace where healing
can occur. I have found it to be of benefit for a wide
variety of physical symptoms.
Only 100% pure grade A essential oils are used for this
therapy. A minimum of 9 oils are used in addition to special
massage oils. If certain systems of the body need work,
additional blends and singles are used with the Vita Flex
technique and Reiki on the spine. |
